KEYNOTE DESCRIPTION:
This presentation will assess the use of the Billings Ovulation Method® as a primary approach for subfertile couples and examine its role as a patient-centered, complementary strategy for natural conception before starting assisted reproductive technologies.
As a thorough review of Dr. Erik Odeblad’s scientific research on cervical crypt morphology and mucus production, which supports the Billings Ovulation Method®, we will analyze a retrospective cohort study conducted over four years, involving a few hundred subfertile couples, to assess conception outcomes.
With the findings asserting that more than 60% of subfertile couples conceived naturally, we'll examine the distinct categories through which the couples derived, and their unique challenges in conceiving naturally, including the average time of infertility to fertility with proper instruction.
Cervical mucus acts as the primary detectable biomarker for identifying the start of the woman’s fertility. As a non-invasive, patient-centered method, the Billings Ovulation Method® application can help couples, especially those facing subfertility, to conceive naturally, possibly reducing the need for and improving the results of unsuccessful IVF treatments or other assisted reproductive technologies.
