KEYNOTE DESCRIPTION:

This workshop is designed to give mothers and their daughters the practical tools they need to grow in confidence in their reproductive faculties and fertility health.  The onset of menstruation can be a challenging time for girls and their moms alike. This workshop will be an opportunity for mothers and their daughters to learn together about what to expect with the onset of  menstraution and provide clarity with navigating the menstrual cycles. 

The activities and exercises throughout the program will  help illustratee simple explanations for the menstrual cycles that will begin occurring in the lives of our young women, and provide mothers with the terminology they need to help their daughters flourish into beautiful, healthly, knowledgeable women.  

Moms and daughters will learn how to discuss their daughters' menstrual cycles in a healthy, constructive, and informed manner. It will provide them with simple strategies and a plan for action to open the conversation around the delicate subject of growing up and embracing womanhood in all of its powers and grace. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

As a result of this talk, moms and their daughters will gain 

- clarity surrounding the menstrual cycle and its reproductive organs

-  a recognition of their patterns of fertility and infertility, and any  disturbances that may occur

- words, terms, and definitions surrounding their reproductive organs that help them achieve confidence in their fertility when  they are speaking about their menstrual cycles, and where they can access fertility instructors for assistance in their fertility journeys 

Based on the mother-daughter workshop developed by the late Senior Billings' Teacher Merrilyn Currie and enhanced by Rose Heron, Senior WOOMB Canada Billings' Teacher-Trainer, Toronto.
