Written Statement of WOOMB International for the 62nd session of the Commission on the Status of Women: United Nations Headquarters, New York, March 12 - 23rd, 2018. 

Gender equality is truly attained with the successful transmission of the Billings Ovulation Method® for fertility health and reproductive regulation by addressing the needs of rural women and girls succinctly and definitively and by facilitating the empowerment of women through communications technologies in the knowledge of the Billings Ovulation Method® and its supplementation of sustainable development worldwide. WOOMB International, World Organization Ovulation Method® Billings, has 41 national affiliates around the world which provide authentic teacher training seminars and materials concerning fertility regulation to millions of women through teaching centres in over 100 countries, ensuring they receive the best reproductive knowledge available to them. For over sixty years, the Billings Ovulation Method®, founded by Drs John and Evelyn Billings of Melbourne, Australia has been helping women understand fertility, empowering them to regulate their sexual faculties in response to their current health and economic lifestyles. 

The knowledge of the Billings Ovulation Method® is easily acquired by women, even allowing those most rurally situated to comprehend and implement it. Understanding the integrity of their own sexuality has allowed women to improve their economic and cultural livelihoods, respective of their varying ethnical experiences and geographies. As trained and accredited fertility educators, our teachers impart a cohesive, natural system of fertility awareness which enables women to control their sexual and reproductive health omitting the need for them to rely on artificial interventions. As in Trinidad and Tobago, the Billings Ovulation Method® Association has seen the benefit of women utilizing communication technology to enquire as to how to monitor their reproductive health and plan their families naturally, economically and efficiently. 

The recognition of gender equality in the empowerment of women and girls by universal acclamation of the dignity of each woman in every country and culture is best accomplished and established by achieving the 17 sustainable development goals as adopted by the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit of 2015. WOOMB International supports the objectives of several of these goals through the realization of women’s empowerment with education in and implementation of fertility and sexual health through the Billings Ovulation Method® of Natural Fertility Regulation.
